In trying to download Newsgroups all that I can get is a total of approx 300, as far as Alt Alabama. My ISP says "You must have limited the groups it downloads to only ones starting with *alt", but this is not so . . . I wouldn't know how to for a start! Maybe you stopped the download of ALL the newsgroups. Some servers can have over 40000 groups which can take some time to download. Setup a new news server file and let all the groups come in. Try doing a search for a specific news group like: wash.politics if it comes up they are all there.
